The easily amused being, in this case, me and the cats. I poured some birdseed on the snow just outside a living room window and got out a bird book I bought ages ago but never really used. We saw: lots of house sparrows, lots of tree sparrows, several cardinals, a squirrel, and the highlight, this pair of blue jays. I had never seen blue jays up close before. I didn't know that their wings—squares of blue, gray, and white outlined in black—looked like panes of a stained glass window.
The cats were all like, "I weel eet you."
